Where We Swim
Manitoba Masters Aquatic Club Inc. (MMAC) operates out of the Pan Am Pool swimming complex. The Pan-Am Pool is located at 25 Poseidon Bay at the corner of Grant and Cambridge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The Pan-Am Pool was the site of the 1999 Pan American Games. The complex houses two 8 lane 50 metre competition pools, 2 weight rooms, and an indoor track.
Practices are available 9 times a week: early morning, evenings and weekends. Choose to swim as little or as often as fits your lifestyle. Other optional activities that are offered are time trials, swim clinics and social functions. In addition many members also pursue other activities together such as cycling, skiing, and triathlon.
Potential members are offered a free 4-workout "get acquainted" trial period - come out for a swim, and introduce yourself to the coach to get started! You'll be introduced to the program and placed in the lane best suited to your abilities. Many present members started this way, whatever their initial level of swimming fitness. Swimmers are grouped in lanes with others of similar ability, so everyone receives training workouts appropriate to their level of ability.
